Help Us Stop the World's Largest Arms Fair

The ExCeL Centre plans to host the world's largest arms fair, DSEI, from 10 to 13 September 2019

East London Against Arms Fairs plans to stop it.

Sign our petition to cancel DSEI

East London Against Arms Fairs (ELAAF) have been opposing the fair since it came to ExCeL in 2001 and will continue to do so until it is cancelled.

Exhibitors at the ExCeL Centre include charities, professional bodies and respectable companies who do not know that they are supporting a venue that helps to trade weapons of death and oppression around the world.

The DSEi arms fair invites unscrupulous arms dealers from countries with no gun control. Advanced weapons are sold to countries at war with each other. Weapons, tanks and missiles are sold to regimes that oppress their own people or attack their neighbours. Delegates from countries that need aid for health services, education or agriculture are persuaded to incur debt to purchase weapons.

While the profits of this arms fair and ExCeL are exported to their owners in the USA and Abu Dhabi, the shame of hosting the fair remains in London, and the slaughtered, bereaved and maimed victims are all over the world.

Contact Campaign Against Arms Trade (CAAT) to find out how you can help oppose the arms trade in your area: 020 7281 0297

If you live near East London you can help ELAAF to stop the arms fair. See our events page for details of our meetings and frequent musical protests at the ExCeL Centre.

    • Musical Protest - No More Arms Fairs

      Outside ExCeL

From Custom House Docklands Light Railway Station, or Victoria Dock Road just follow the signs to ExCeL. It is wheelchair accessible, lift from platform level to walkway. More supporters (whether musical or not) are needed for ELAAF musical protests at the ExCeL centre calling for the cancellation of plans for another “DSEI” arms fair in 2019. Musical Protests are an opportunity to spread information about the Arms Trade to the large crowds that come to the different exhibitions held at ExCeL. More musicians and singers are welcome to play or sing along with the Red Band or to make your own music (any style). If anyone is in contact with bands, choirs or soloists please invite them to join us.

    • Musical Protest - No More Arms Fairs

      Outside ExCeL

From Prince Regent Docklands Light Railway Station just follow the signs to ExCeL. We will be at the end of the ExCeL walkway, on the left, near the glass doors. It is wheelchair accessible with a lift, from platform level or street level, to walkway. The bus station, termination of several routes, is next to the Prince Regent DLR station. More musicians and singers are needed and welcome to play or sing along with the Red Band or to play or sing your own music (any style). Even if you are not musical you are still needed to give out leaflets, put up banners, collect a petition, etc. Even if you really prefer non-musical protesting you can give out leaflets at the other, Custom House, entrance to ExCeL.
